Last night the boys were broken up into crews for working the boat. This morning alpha crew woke up and took the boat from the seagull pier at 5 am into the Neuse toward the Pamlico sound. The rest of the crew woke up at 730 for reveille. We had breakfast under way while exiting the Neuse river. The boys plotted a course for Brant shoal and sailed there on a run with a speed of 3 knots after a lunch of cold cuts we rounded the shoal and began our approach to the mouth of the Pamlico river. We arrived at Indian Island by 5 where the boys enjoyed swimming and practicing with the dinghy. For dinner some of the crew cooked chicken on the grill while others made sukitash and rice.
